Makiah grew up in El Dorado, Kansas, where her passion for animal care began at a young age. At just 12 years old, she started volunteering at Bluestem Animal Clinic and quickly fell in love with veterinary medicine. That early experience sparked a lasting commitment to helping animals and supporting their well-being.
In June 2025, Makiah moved to Iowa, where she now lives in Cedar Falls with her husband, Jeremiah. Together, they share their home with their two cats, Jazmine and Ja’Far. Makiah continues to pursue her passion for veterinary medicine, bringing compassion, dedication, and a lifelong love of animals to everything she does.
